"The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more you learn, the more places you'll go."
~Dr. Suess, "I Can Read With My Eyes Shut!"
Welcome to Mrs. Bamberg's classes. I am a 6th grade teacher and I teach reading, language, and geography. 6th graders will create a reading interactive journal and work in Guided Reading groups. Language is also creating interactive journals for grammar and writing. In Geography, we are using Hold, Rinehart and Winston's books. Each continent will have its own mini book. Also you can go online at my.hrw.com and get some extra resources if you need them.
Please look in the Eastland Handbook for the grading policy. My class expectations are the Eastland Way Rules. These are listed also in the Eastland Handbook if you would like further explanation. All students are expected to be respectful, be responsible, and be ready for class. The one rule that might need a little explanation is being ready. All students should come to class with their homework done, a pencil, textbook, and a library book for silent reading. Students will be carrying their backpacks around with them this year because of the laptops. Earbuds are a must have for the laptops. Schoology is used a lot during the day and laptops need to be charged and ready to go!
If you have any questions or concern, please feel free to contact me at any time. I usually answer e-mails the fastest, but I will return phone calls as well.
